Developer Announces Opening Of Wayland Alta Oxbow Apartments
The Alta Oxbow, also known as River's Edge, includes 218 apartments with market rents starting at around $2,700.

WAYLAND, MA — The developer behind a Boston Post Road apartment building that has been in the works for about a decade announced the building's grand opening this week following a delay caused by supply chain issues.
The Alta Oxbow building — also known as River's Edge — features 218 apartments across three buildings. The building includes 55 units designated as affordable for the area, and 66 units restricted to people over age 55.
"We are excited to officially open the doors to Wood Partners' latest community — Alta Oxbow — just 20 miles west of Boston in beautiful Wayland," developer Wood Partners managing director Jim Lambert said in a news release on Monday.

The company had previously said the building featuring units for people over age 55 would open in July. At a July 8 Wayland Economic Development Committee meeting, chair Rebecca Stanizzi said the first building may not open until September.
But after that meeting, Wood Partners sent an email to an Alta Oxbow mailing list saying that tenants could begin moving in to the first building as soon as Aug. 1. A representative from Wood Partners could not be reached Tuesday to clarify the status of move-ins.

The building's website has been updated with prices for all units. The cheapest unit not restricted by age cost about $2,750 per month, while the most expensive — a three-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment — cost over $5,100 per month.
Wood Partners opened a lottery for the 55 affordable units in May. Those apartments will rent for $1,693 for a one-bedroom and $1,858 for a two-bedroom.
Alta Oxbow is located at 492 Boston Post Road near the Sudbury line.
