WAYLAND, MA — A community-sponsored event to promote the proper disposal of household hazardous waste is coming up.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off Day in Wayland is happening on Nov. 22. That means you can legally drop off certain wastes at the town's DPW Garage, located at 66 River Rd.

The collection facility will be accepting a variety of materials, like adhesives, oil-based paints and household cleaners.

The health department is advising residents to leave materials in their original containers with tightly sealed lids, sort and pack items separately, never mix chemicals, never smoke while handling hazardous materials, and drive immediately to the site with a packed car.
