Crash In Wayland Closes Route 27 For Hours
An SUV and a construction vehicle collided just north of Route 126 Thursday afternoon.

WAYLAND, MA — Route 27 was closed Thursday afternoon near the Route 126 intersection after a serious accident involving an SUV and a construction vehicle.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. along Route 27/Cochituate Road near Green Way, which is just north of the Old Connecticut Path intersection.
During the crash, the two vehicles crashed into a utility pole along Route 27. The mess forced the closure of Cochituate Road for several hours as crews cleaned up the mess and replaced overhead wires.

The driver of the SUV was taken to Lahey Medical Center in Peabody for treatment of serious injuries, fire officials said.
Route 27 closed at Green Way due to MVC. Road will be closed for 4 - 8 hours due to snapped utility pole and damage to primary wires . Occupant of car transported to Lahey Medical center by Brewster ambulance with serious injuries. pic.twitter.com/oTI3vPXihA
