Pooch Parade Returns This Saturday
Enjoy the festivities as dogs take over the Weston Town Green.
WAYLAND, MA - It’s not often that a contest is won for being the best tail wagger.
That’s not the case on Saturday as the Pooch Parade is back for its second year with more contests, raffles, auctions, demonstrations and, of course, the pups.
The event will take place on the Weston Town Green from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. courtesy of the Rotary Club of Weston and Wayland.

Contests will be held throughout the day awarding prizes for feats such as best trick, pooch-person look-alike, highest jumper, best singer and plenty more adorable categories.
The parading of the pooches will commence around 12:30 p.m. with Instagram celebrity pooches such as Knox and Bear and Harvard Dangerfield.

Sniff around the center of the festival to witness demonstrations by some of the particularly proficient pooches catching frisbees and running obstacle courses. There will also be K9 Unit demonstrations and a canine first aid presentation.
There will also be an opportunity to win designer doghouses by auction and raffle, featuring “The Copper House,” designed and built by Rotary Club member John Veale, according to Wicked Local.
Auction bids can be made before or during the parade by emailing Keith Gross at keith@westonpoochparade.org.
A $20 donation (or more) to one of the charities partners is worth a ticket to the event.
Proceeds from the parade will support Buddy Dog Humane Society, Inc., Survivor Tails Animal Rescue, Animal Rescue League of Boston, Save a Dog, Inc., Operation Delta Dog and many more.
The parade is made possible through the support of various sponsors: Weston Veterinary Clinic, Especially for Pets, Village Bank, DoodyCalls, Northeast Select Properties LLC and Toureen Pet Resort and Spa.
