West Nile Virus Risk Rises In Wayland
There were 19 West Nile Virus cases reported in humans in Massachusetts last year.
WAYLAND, MA — The risk level for a life-threatening virus has changed for Wayland.
The threat of West Nile Virus has been elevated to moderate in several towns, including Wayland. The reason for the increased risk is that additional mosquito samples have tested positive for WNV, according to the town.
A moderate risk level means that the virus is mostly prevalent in mosquitoes, but has the potential to circulate in human populations.
