WAYLAND, MA — Wayland on Tuesday will continue a series of public forums reviewing ideas for changes along Route 20 in the vicinity of the town center area.

The Wayland Planning Board began exploring ideas on how to transform the Boston Post Road corridor into an "economically and socially vibrant ‘New England village’ town center that reduces Route 20’s dividing impact and provides increased pedestrian and bicyclist connectivity safely throughout the area."

The potential redesign would coincide with several other major projects near the intersection of Route 20, Route 126 and Route 27, including a new senior and community center along Andrew Avenue, a proposed 172-unit residential development on the site of the former Whole Foods and the extension of the Mass Central Rail Trail into and through Sudbury.

Similar to other recent forums, residents on Tuesday will get to view potential roadway improvements prepared by the town's consultant, the BETA Group. The consultant has already made several public presentations covering Route 20 improvements.

Tuesday's meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Wayland Town Hall and will also be broadcast via Zoom.
