Route 20 Reimagined: Wayland Seeks Input On Possible Redesign
Sidewalks, bike lanes and more could be in store for Route 20 through Wayland. A new survey seeks feedback.

WAYLAND, MA — Someday you might be able to walk from one end of Wayland to the other along Route 20 without having to step off the sidewalk into the gutter.
An east-west sidewalk along Route 20 is one potential outcome of a planned repaving of the roadway, which the state is planning to begin in 2022. Wayland wants to use the occasion to upgrade the roadway, and recently opened a survey to get feedback from residents about items that should be a priority.
Apart from sidewalks and other pedestrian improvements, the town is consider upgrades like bike lanes, plantings and overhead lighting.
