Unique Service: Wayland Grad Talks to Church About Girls' Challenges with STEM
A Wayland grad talks about gender inequality in science, technology, engineering and math.

WAYLAND, MA—When Cindy Ge was in the Girl Scouts, she received the Gold Award for a project that engaged fifth grade girls in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
It's the highest award achievable in the Scouts.
Ge, who graduated from Wayland High School in 2016, gives a summer service on Sunday, July 24, at the First Parish Church in Wayland to discuss "Gender Inequality in STEM Fields.

She will talk about why girls typically lose interest in these subjects (or feign apathy), and why girls typically veer from these subjects at an early age and the navigational challenges for women in the STEM fields.
The service starts at 10 a.m. and all are welcome.
