WAYLAND, MA — Wayland's first cannabis business will be up for discussion this week in front of the Planning Board.

Earth Well Farms is seeking permission to open a medical marijuana treatment facility at 526 Boston Post Road, which is across Route 20 from the Herb Chambers dealerships near the Sudbury town line.

According to plans submitted to the town, Earth Well Farms would cultivate cannabis, manufacture products and sell marijuana to medical patients out of a 23,000 square-foot space.

Wayland has banned cannabis retail businesses from opening in town. But Earth Well Farms would only offer treatment for medical patients, not the public.

The Earth Well Farms public hearing will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The public can tune in via Zoom.
