Wayland Competes Sunday in Annual Civics Bee

Teams from Wayland, Sudbury and Weston will face off in the annual trivia competition sponsored by the League of Women Voters.

WAYLAND, MA - Wayland will seek to defend its crown Sunday in the eighth annual League of Women Voters Civics Bee.

Teams of adults and students from Wayland, Sudbury and Weston will face off at the Weston Community Center in the annual trivia competition. This year's featured topic is the executive branch, but teams will have to answer questions from a wide range of areas related to overall knowledge of federal, state and local government.

The adult members of Wayland's team include Miranda Jones, Robert Gordon and Jonathan Saxton. The middle school team members include C. J. Brown, Felix Thompson, Brendan Ho, Ryan Urato, Charlie Moore, Kevin Wang and Genesis Morales. The high school team is composed of Ashley Edwards (alternate), Sarah Raines, Zach Falber (alternate), Sten Shearer, Josh Lee, Lily Toto, William Paik and Luke Xu.

The Civics Bee will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6 at the Weston Community Center (20 Alphabet Lane).

The Bee is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters in Sudbury, Wayland and Weston with special funding by a grant from the Weston Cultural Council.
