WAYLAND, MA — Local creatives take note: the Wayland Cultural Council is on the lookout for ideas. The council has opened up its grant period for the upcoming year, providing funds for a wide range of cultural and art projects.

The Wayland Cultural Council is accepting project proposals for its Local Cultural Council Grant. A town committee appointed by the Select Board, the Wayland Cultural Council distributes state allocated funds into local communities through this grant process.

As a program of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, local councils award grants through an application process, funding community-based projects in the arts, sciences, and humanities.

The Wayland Cultural Council seeks project proposals that are creative, new and free and accessible to residents. There is particular interest in funding community-wide gatherings such as festivals. Applications must be submitted online by Oct. 15.
