WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland Cultural Council is seeking proposals from local artists for a new outdoor art project that will adorn the town's section of the Mass Central Rail Trail.

Funded by a donation from the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund, the project will pay for the creation of six "artfully upcycled" doors decorated around the theme of nature and community. The finished doors will then be placed along the rail trail.

The Wayland project is part of the wider Go Out Doors – Neighbors initiative, whose local component is sponsored by Concord's Umbrella Arts. The Go Out Doors project was originally seen along the High Line park in New York City.
