Wayland Health Department Issues Winter Wellness Reminders

Amidst rising norovirus cases in Massachusetts, the Wayland Health Department is urging its residents to exercise good health practices.

WAYLAND, MA - It's the coldest, and perhaps windiest, time of the year, and the Wayland Health Department is making sure its residents are as prepared as they could be for any illnesses brought on by the frigid temperatures.

If anyone forgot to get their flu vaccines, there will be a mini clinic on Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the select board room at the Wayland Town Building on 41 Cochituate Rd. Standard doses for six-month-olds to 64-year-olds and high doses for those older than 65 will both be available. To register, go to this link here.

Norovirus is also on the rise in Massachusetts, and Wayland residents are urged to wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds after changing diapers, using the bathroom, touching common surfaces, shaking hands and before eating, preparing or handling food or medicine.
