Wayland Library Offered As Refuge From Heat
A heat advisory covering the Wayland area has been extended through Thursday.

WAYLAND, MA — A dangerous heat wave will persist through this week, and town officials are urging residents to take precautions as temperatures near 100 degrees.
The Wayland police and fire chiefs are advising residents who don't have air conditioning to seek refuge at the library, which is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, and until 6 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The town beach, 25 Parkland Drive, is also open for swimming daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The public safety officials are also urging caution outdoors this week, advising residents to avoid strenuous activity during the hottest afternoon hours, to drink plenty of fluids and to wear loose clothing.
A National Weather Service heat advisory will be in effect through at least 8 p.m. on Thursday with the heat index expected to reach about 97 degrees in Wayland. The forecast calls for temperatures in the 90s on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
