Wayland Man, 43, Dies In Weekend Car Crash
Firefighters from Wayland worked for 40 minutes to put out the car fire.

WAYLAND, MA — A Wayland man died early Saturday morning after crashing into a tree along a road south of Old Connecticut Path, according to police and firefighters.
Rescue crews responded to near 41 Shaw Drive just after 1:30 a.m. and found a Kia EV6 — an all-electric sedan — on fire. It took firefighters about 40 minutes to completely extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation as of Saturday evening, according to the police and fire departments.

In addition to Wayland police and firefighters, state police and Sudbury firefighters also responded to provide help during the incident.
"This was a truly tragic incident that resulted in the loss of one of our dear community members," Wayland Fire Chief Neil McPherson said in a news release. "On behalf of the Wayland Police and Fire Departments, we extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victim."
