Wayland Man Launches 'One Big Check' GoFundMe Campaign

WAYLAND, MA - Some people dream of winning a few thousand dollars; one Wayland man dreams of giving away a few thousand dollars.

More specifically, Mark (whose last name not disclosed) dreams of handing a giant check to a deserving person or charity. And when he says "giant check" he's talking about the literal dimensions of the check.

"Most people had dreams of becoming a firefighter, cop, or astronaut, where as [sic] I had a different type of dream," he writes on his GoFundMe page. "I have always wanted to hand someone an oversized [sic] check."

Mark set his GoFundMe goal at $2,034 ($2,000 for the amount of the check itself and $34 to have it printed). He tells supporters that he will let them decide who receives the check -- it could even go to someone who pitches in to help him achieve his dream.

In the 19 days since Mark launched his campaign, he's raised $35 from four contributors.

"I just know that my life won't be complete until I've handed someone one of those awesomely large checks," he writes.
