WAYLAND, MA — It's your last chance to get a free flu or COVID-19 vaccine from the town.

The Wayland Health Department on Wednesday will hold a vaccine clinic offering the bivalent COVID-19 booster — which is effective against new variants — and the flu shot to anyone over age 12.

Anyone interested in getting a vaccine should bring vaccine cards, wear a mask and bring insurance information, if available. People who are sick with either flu or COVID-19 should not attend the clinic.

Health officials are already dealing with an emerging "tripledemic" in Massachusetts, with influenza, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and COVID-19 on the rise. Massachusetts General Hospital on Thursday warned of a shortage of pediatric hospital beds across the state due to surging RSV cases.

Residents can sign up for appointments online, or call the Wayland Health Department at (508) 358-6805. The clinic will run from 1 to 3 p.m. on Nov. 16.
