Wayland Opening 2 Cooling Stations For Weekend Heat
Wayland residents will have two places to seek refuge with temperatures set to reach 100 or higher.

WAYLAND, MA — With temperatures forecast to reach 100 or higher this weekend in Wayland, the town is opening two extra cooling stations for residents.
The Wayland library will be open Saturday until 6 p.m., about five hours longer than usual. On Sunday, the community room at the Public Safety Building, 38 Cochituate Road, will be open for residents to use.
This week's heat wave will continue across all weekend days. Sunday will be the hottest day of the weekend with the forecast calling for 102 degrees in Wayland.

The town is also reminding residents to watch energy use this weekend. Increased use of appliances during the heat wave will stress the electric grid, especially during the afternoon and early evening hours.
