Wayland Opens Cooling Centers For Yet Another Heat Wave
Heat indices may reach 100 or higher in the Wayland area this week, putting vulnerable residents at risk.

WAYLAND, MA — Wayland residents will have some options to seek refuge from the new heat wave that will last until Wednesday.
The Wayland Free Public Library, 5 Concord Road, will be open extra hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The public safety building, 38 Cochituate Road, will keep its training room open for the public to use to cool down 24 hours per day through Wednesday at 5 p.m.
"It will be vitally important that those without adequate cooling are monitored for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. During the peak heat and humidity this week, everyone should try to limit time spent outdoors, especially in full sunshine," the town said Monday.
