Wayland Police Receive Reports Of Spoof Phone Call Scam
Scammers are using spoofed numbers that make it appear as if they are calling from a Wayland Police Department line.
WAYLAND, MA — Police are warning residents about a scam that has popped recently.
Police posted the following on their Facebook page:
Recently the Wayland Police Department have received a number of scam reports involving residents receiving phone calls from a spoofed number that appears as they are coming from a Wayland Police Department phone line.

The callers are stating that they are an officer from the Wayland Police Department, and telling the residents that there is an active arrest warrant out for them. They are looking for money to resolve the issue. If you receive a phone call like this, don’t give them any information and hang up.
