Wayland Police, Town Warns Residents Of Wire Transfer Scam
The invoices look like they were issued by the Wayland Planning Board/Department.
WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland Police Department and the town are warning the community of fraudulent invoices being sent to residents and employees.
The invoices look like they were issued by the Wayland Planning Board/Department and claim that payment is owed. It asks recipients to send money via wire transfer.
The town and police department are urging residents to verify any invoice or payment request by contacting the appropriate town department directly. Residents can also make any necessary payments in person by check at Town Hall.
