WAYLAND, MA — A downgraded nor'easter is causing cancelations across Wayland, including trash dropoff and school.

A storm that was initially predicted to bring around 12 inches of snow to the area shifted south Monday afternoon, putting the heavier bands of snow closer to central Rhode Island. Wayland is straddling an area that forecasters think will see either 4 to 6 or 6 to 8 inches by the end of day Tuesday.

Wayland will keep the transfer station closed on Tuesday, and town offices will also be closed.

"Travel will be difficult Tuesday morning and last into the afternoon due to low visibility and snow covered roads. If you must travel, please be prepared for roads to be impacted," the town warned.

Wayland Public Schools, Temple Shir Tikva ELC and Veritas Christian Academy will all be closed Tuesday.
