Wayland Seeks Poll Workers For Busy Election Year
Earn $15 per hour to help keep our democracy going over the primary and general elections in 2024.

Editor's note: Wayland is no longer seeking election volunteers after a large response from the public.
WAYLAND, MA — If the weekend's attempted assassination of candidate Donald Trump didn't get you thinking about the upcoming elections, maybe Wayland Town Clerk Trudy Reid can appeal to your democratic interests.
Reid has put out the call for poll workers to help with the Sept. 3 primary and the November general election. The November election is of course the main event, and will feature the marquee races for U.S. President, plus statewide races and at least four ballot questions.

The primary will feature races for U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative, Governor’s Council, state Senate, state House, Middlesex Register of Deeds and Clerk of Courts. For Wayland voters, the District 3 Governor's Council seat will be contested, with incumbent Marilyn Petitto Devaney facing a challenge from Mara Dolan.
Any Wayland resident interesting in working the polls need to meet some minimum requirements, including being a registered voter, being able to read and speak English, not be a candidate, plus circumstantial qualifications like being able to work on Election Day and having transportation.
