WAYLAND, MA — Wayland Public Schools Superintendent David Fleishman announced that he will host two visioning sessions focused on the district's future.
The sessions, which will build on one another, will take place in November. Two goals of the process are to complete a Pre K-8 Facilities Master Plan and establish updated teaching and learning environments for students and staff.
The first session, "The Future of PK-8 Learning," will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 at the Council on Aging, located at 8 Andrew Ave.

"Join our team from HMFH Architects, along with Wayland educators to imagine the future of learning in Wayland’s Pre-K-8 schools. Together, we’ll explore what optimal teaching and learning should look like and what experiences we most cherish for our students. We’ll also examine the skills we think will be necessary for them to acquire as well as the environments that best support their growth," wrote Superintendent Fleishman.
The second session, focused on "Development and School/Grade Configuration," will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 at Happy Hollow School.

"In this session, we’ll build on the first forum to dive deeper into how children grow, learn and connect from early childhood through adolescence and the implications for how schools are organized. We’ll explore the relationship between learning environments, school size and grade configurations, and discuss how best to support belonging, development and community across PreK-8," wrote Superintendent Fleishman.
