So Dramatic: Wayland Theater Ensemble Going To State Finals
The three-day Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild begins Thursday with a performance by Wayland students.

WAYLAND, MA — The Wayland High School Theater Ensemble will compete this weekend at the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild High School Theater Festival state finals alongside thirteen other schools from across the state.
The Wayland ensemble opens the festival Thursday evening performing "The Everyday Adventures of Harriet Handleman (Super Genius)," a play by Greg Atkins. The festival will run for three days at the Back Bay Events Center, according to the Wayland Creative Arts Parent Association.
The Wayland High School Theater Ensemble in comprised of about 30 students who handle duties ranging from acting to production and technical support. The ensemble has already performed "The Spongebob Musical" this school year, and will perform "RENT" at the high school in May.

The Wayland team was picked from over 100 schools in the first round of the high school theater festival. Of the fourteen schools competing this weekend, two will move on to represent Massachusetts at the New England Drama Festival.
