Wayland Will Use $21K State Grant For Traffic Safety Efforts
Wayland police can use the money to pay for traffic safety programs like DUI patrols and seatbelt checks.

WAYLAND, MA — Wayland police will be able to conduct road safety programs throughout the year with help from a new state grant.
The town received a $21,820 grant from the state Municipal Road Safety Grant Program last week. The money can be used for campaigns like DUI checkpoints and extra patrols to look for violations of the state hands-free driving law.
The state released closed to $11 million in grants to cities and towns across the state on Sept. 14 to fund emphasis patrols.
