False Alarm After Screams Reported Near Frozen Marsh: Wellesly PD

WELLESLEY, MA — Police and fire searched the area around Brookside Road and Wellesley Avenue after reports that someone reported heard screams near the ice.

After someone reported they heard screaming from the marsh in that area, Needham and Wellesley police and fire crews raced to the check to see if someone was stuck in that area, Needham police said on social media. Emergency personnel prepared for an ice rescue, putting on wet suits, but fortunately, no one fell through the ice, Wellesley police later said.
