WESTBOROUGH, MA—This swan's song was a scary one when the bird got caught in a fishing net with weights in a Westborough lake. It appeared, said police, that the swan was unable to eat for some time due to the netting. The swan was captured on May 4 and brought to Tufts Wildlife Clinic in Grafton. The swan survived and Animal Control in Westborough will release it back to the wild after state approval. "I would like commend ACO Melinda Mackendrick for her efforts and thank her for her service to our community," said Police Chief Jeffrey Lourie. Photos via Westborough police
