Grant Apps Available From Tufts For Grafton, Westborough Projects

The application period is open for nonprofits based in Westborough or Grafton.

NORTH GRAFTON, MA—Need money to fund your project? Perhaps this would apply.

Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University is taking grant applications for the eighth annual Cummings School Service Fund, which supports nonprofit organizations in its host communities of Westborough and Grafton.

Applications are reviewed on an annual basis by the school and given priority based on their ability to address community-identified needs. Projects with relevance to education are encouraged. Applications for FY2018 fund awards are now available.

“The Cummings School community greatly appreciates the many organizations and programs that enrich Grafton and Westborough,” said Deborah T. Kochevar, D.V.M, Ph.D., dean of Cummings School, in a statement. “As always, we look forward to recognizing their achievements this year.”

Requests for funding should be submitted no later than May 30, 2018 for consideration for funding in the current fiscal year which ends June 30. A committee comprised of Cummings School administrators, faculty and staff meets annually to review proposals and select grant recipients, and will inform requesters of its funding decision by June 30.

The Cummings School Service Fund grants typically range from $200-$500.

Any proposal for project or activities is welcome. Activities funded or supported in previous years of Cummings Service Fund awards include a 5k road race hosted by Westborough Education Foundation to benefit Westborough public schools; St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church program to provide breakfast and lunch for eligible campers at Worcester Area Mission Society (WAMS) Day Camp; a free concert put on by The Claflin Hill Music Performance Foundation in recognition of service of Vietnam War veterans; and the Lion’s Club of Grafton July 4th Celebration.
