WESTBOROUGH, MA—It's certainly not a new one, and it's one of many, but Westborough police recently reported that the "IRS' scam hit some residents in town. WPD received a private message from a resident advising us that the IRS contacted them and demanded payment or they would be arrested. Police remind you that the IRS will not call you and request prepaid card payments regarding owed monies to the government. Do not fall victim to this scam and if you ever have doubts, concerns or questions contact your local police department.
