Preliminary MCAS Results "Very Strong"

Parents will receive reports early- to mid next week.

The preliminary reports of Westborough's latest MCAS results are "very strong," Assistant School Superintendent Dr. Daniel Mayer says.

In English/language arts, more than 85 percent of Westborough students, averaged across grades three to 10, scored proficient or higher, Mayer told the school committee this week.

The state average was 69 percent, he said.

In math, 80 percent of Westborough students, averaged across grades three to 10, scored proficient or higher, Mayer said.

The state average was 61 percent, he said.

Parents will receive reports early- to mid next week, Mayer said.
