Threat Made Against Westborough Religious Group Was Hoax: PD
A perceived threat against the religious organization is under investigation by local and federal authorities.
WESTBOROUGH, MA — An unidentified religious group was the target of a perceived threat that turned out to be a hoax, Westborough police reported Thursday.
The director of the religious organization contacted police after seeing the threat on social media around 11 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
Still, Westborough police said the department along with state and federal authorities are investigating the incident.

"The threat appears to be a hoax and there is no danger to the public or the organization currently due to the threat," police said in a news release. "The Westborough Police Department will continue to investigate in partnership with State and Federal organizations and provide any updates. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Westborough Police Detectives at 508-475-4250."
