Want To Run For Westborough Office? Nomination Papers Available

WESTBOROUGH, MA—If you're thinking of running for an office in Westborough, note that nomination papers are now available and will be through Jan. 16, 2018, for the election in March.

The annual Westborough Town Election takes place on Tuesday, March 6, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Incumbents seeking re-election:

Board of Selectmen (2-seats; 3yr term)

George Barrette (for re-election)

School Committee (1-seat; 3yr term)

Nicole Sullivan (for re-election)

Planning Board (1-seat; 5yr term)

Hazel W. Nourse (for re-election)

Trustees of the Public Library (3-seats; 3 yr term & 1-seat; 1yr term)

Karen Fay (for re-election)

James Holmes (for re-election)

Carolyn Spring (for re-election)

VACANCY (1 yr term)

Note to Candidates: It is recommended that any registered voter seeking election to hold office in the Town of Westborough, for the first time, should contact the Town Clerk for instructions. Prior to obtaining blank nomination papers from the Town Clerk, a candidate must file a statement of candidacy with the Town Clerk. This statement will contain his/her name/address and the town office for which he/she seeks election. No candidate for a town office shall receive more blank nomination papers than will contain the number of signatures required to place his/her name in nomination, multiplied by five (maximum of five papers issued).

Dec. 4, 2017 - Monday Nomination Papers available from the Town Clerk

Jan . 12, 2018 - Friday Last Day, until 5 p.m., to obtain Nomination papers

Jan. 16, 2018 - Tuesday Last day, until 5 p.m., to submit signed nomination papers to Town Clerk/Registrars of Voters for certification. You must submit 50 signatures of certified registered voters in Westborough

Feb. 1, 2018 - Thursday Last day until 5 p.m., to object or withdraw papers

Feb. 14, 2018 – Wednesday Last day until 8 p.m., to register to Vote for Annual Town Election & Annual Town Meeting

Feb 27, 2018 – Tuesday Last day to Post Town Warrant

March 6, 2018 – Tuesday Annual Town Election - All Precincts; 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 located at WHS Gym, 90 West Main Street

March 17, 2018 – Saturday Annual Town Meeting – 1-11 p.m. at the

WHS Auditorium and may continue through Town

Meeting week, beginning at 7 p.m. until dissolved.
