• Frustrated DIY plumber from WMass wants Supreme Court to hear his plight (masslive.com) — A Westfield resident is challenging Massachusetts rules that prevent him from pulling his own plumbing permit for a retirement home he’s building in Savoy, and he’s now asking the U.S. Supreme Court to hear his case. John F. Carbin argues that long-standing licensing requirements unfairly block homeowners from doing their own plumbing, while state and federal courts so far have upheld the regulations as valid health and safety protections.
