Ann Watson Born conducts the Nashoba Valley Chorale and professional orchestra in a performance of the Beethoven Mass in C and music of Bach, Britten, Vivaldi and Woo. Soloists include Shawn McCann, Jordan Bailey Jones, Ann Moss, Kate Engel Meifert, Philippe L'Esperance, and Marc DeMille.
Although considered a masterpiece, this beautiful Beethoven work is rarely performed. The Bach motet, Der Geist hilft unser Schwachheit auf, and the Vivaldi, Domine ad adjuvandum me festina, both feature double chorus. Gloria, Cum Sancto Spiritu, by Woo features Latin text with Korean scales and rhythm.
