5 Things: Potential Budget Cuts, Deer Program Update and More

A few things you need to know on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Weston.

1. Budget Discussion for School Committee. The School Committee is scheduled to meet at 3:30 p.m. today and has only a discussion of proposed personnel budget cuts on the agenda.

2. Other Meetings. The Conservation Commission is scheduled to meet with the Board of Selectmen tonight to discuss the 2012 Deer Program and recommendations for 2013. The Board of Selectmen convene at 7 p.m. and are scheduled to begin discussion with the Conservation Commission at 7:30 p.m. (though the Conservation Commission agenda lists the discussion at 7:10 p.m.)

3. Healthy Aging Lunch at Shir Tikva. Everyone is invited to a lunch and learn event with Dr. Robert Stern, director of Clinical Core of Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Center, who will offer a presentation on Alzheimer's, memory loss and dementia. A kosher lunch will be provided for $5 at the door.

4. Who, What, Why, How? Another Alpha Course discussion will be held tonight at Westgate Church. This one addresses questions including. "What is the point of life? Why do people suffer? What happens when we die? Is forgiveness possible?" This course is open to anyone and is designed for people new to Christianity or looking for deeper understanding.
