9:43 p.m.: It's another Beatles number, as Lee Jean sings "Let It Be." "You have so much going for you, and I liked this performance for you - is it going to be enough - I'm not sure," said Lopez. "I felt like it was a tiny bit shaky." "The pitch was a big issue this time," said Connick, Jr.
9:32 p.m.: Avalon tackles Michael Jackson's "PYT." "It's confusing to me that you always connect with everybody here, but end up in the bottom three," said Urban. "We love what you do, and if you make it through, go out of your comfort zone," said Lopez. "It would have been nice to hear you sing a ballad," said Connick, Jr. "The band is so strong, I want to see you move more."
9:28 p.m. Sonika, Lee and Avalon sing for a spot in the finals. Two will go home.
9:22 p.m.: Dalton attempts "Eleanor Rigby" by the Beatles. "I would imagine you feel much better about that," said Connick, Jr. "There's a dark, undercurrent that you brought out and like a good waffle iron, you made an impression," said Urban.
9:20 p.m.: Based on the nationwide vote the last person who secured a spot in the safety zone is Dalton," announced Ryan Seacrest.
9:10 p.m.: Tristan McIntosh sings "A Broken Wing" by Martina McBride. "That's exactly what you need to be doing," said Lopez.
9 p.m.: Trent Harmon rearranges Ben E. King's "Stand by Me." "I always knew you were bad - and bad means good," said Lopez. "I love what you do with you do with your voice. I don't know if the audience is getting how much of a badass that you are." "A small suggestion about rhythm - the harder you sink into the rhythm of that, the better it will be," said Connick, Jr.
8:40 p.m.: Mackenzie sings "You Are So Beautiful"
8:38 p.m: Laporsha Renae hits out a funky version of "Come Together." "You give us full diva every time you're up there," said Lopez. "If you can make sense out of those lyrics, I actually knew what you were singing about and I never could make sense of them," said Connick, Jr.

"I think you did as good as you could, but it's hard to find a song that brings out the best." "The problem was in the arrangement," said Connick, Jr. "There was nothing special, and it could have been. It was boring and bland and it didn't have to be."
8:20 p.m.: Mackenzie and Dalton sing "I Want it That Way" by the Backstreet Boys. "I do not think that was a good song for you," said Harry Connick Jr. "It's a fine song, but not for you, not tonight, and not for American Idol." "I completely agree," said Keith Urban. "I felt like attempting to work together didn't benefit either of you." "It wasn't the right song, and once you started singing it, you should have recognized it," said Lopez.
