Man Taken to Hospital After Hitting Head

The incident occurred on Newton Street.

A 49-year-old man was taken to the hospital today after striking his head on a stabilizer for a crane, according to Weston Fire Chief David Soar.

The incident started at around 11:10 a.m. when authorities received a call about the incident at the tractor-trailer lot at 153 Newton St., Soar said. Firefighters arrived and found the man floating in and out of consciousness, Soar said. The man had hit his head on a crane stabilizer.

The man was at the site as a separate crew performed tree work, Soar said. Due to the nature of his injury, the victim was taken by helicopter to a hospital, Soar said. Soar said he had no information on the victim’s condition.
