Spellman Announces Annual Philatelic Bazaar

The annual stamp event is coming up in a couple of weeks.

The Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History will hold its annual stamp recycling event on Saturday, March 2.

"New England's biggest stamp recycling event," according to an announcement from the museum, will feature a wide variety of collections and stamp supplies.

One room of the museum will feature philatelic literature such as handbooks, journals and catalogues from around the world.

"Visitors may also view the Special Exhibits Gallery and the main gallery that include displays of Zeppelins on stamps and envelopes, a US Presidents on Stamps exhibit, stamps celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s coronation and jubilee, civil war letters and envelopes, early children’s stamp games and numerous antique stamp carrying cases," according to a press release about the bazaar.

Proceeds from the bazaar support the educational programs and activities of the museum.

The bazaar takes place March 2 from noon to 4 p.m. and admission is free. Museum members will be admitted one hour early.
