The Golden Ball Tavern Museum is open for our annual Holiday Extravaganza - "Trimming the Tavern "Here's to the Red, White and Blue". From December 8th to December 13th, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free and Family Friendly - visit the beautifully decorated rooms created with the theme of the 250th anniversary of the Revolution...by a team of community partners. DON"T MISS THIS! Our museum offers visitors a different perspective on the American Revolution. Our museum, housed in a historic Pre-Revolutionary home and tavern in Weston, Massachusetts, tells the other side of the story – that of the Loyalists during the War of Independence. Notably, the Museum is among only a handful of institutions in the country dedicated to bringing to life the Loyalist experience. We also tell the story of six generations of the same family living in the same house for almost 200 years! Join us to learn more about colonial life and beyond. Our last open house history tours of the museum for 2025 will be on Thursday, December 18th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free and family friendly! The Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History will hold its annual stamp recycling event on Saturday, March 2. "New England's biggest stamp recycling event," according to an announcement from the museum, will feature a wide variety of collections and stamp supplies. One room of the museum will feature philatelic literature such as handbooks, journals and catalogues from around the world. "Visitors may also view the Special Exhibits Gallery and the main gallery that include displays of Zeppelins on stamps and envelopes, a US Presidents on Stamps exhibit, stamps celebrating Queen Elizabeth's coronation and jubilee, civil war letters and envelopes, early children's stamp games and numerous antique stamp carrying cases," according to a press release about the bazaar. Proceeds from the bazaar support the educational programs and activities of the museum. The bazaar takes place March 2 from noon to 4 p.m. and admission is free. Museum members will be admitted one hour early.
