Town Manager Appointed For Weston
The Board of Selectmen chose a new town manager at its last meeting.

WESTON, MA—Leon A. Gaumond, Jr., was appointed Weston's next town mayor, approved by the Board of Selectmen at its July 10 meeting.
It is anticipated that Gaumond will begin mid-September, which will allow for a two-week overlap with Weston's current Town Manager.
Gaumond currently serves as the town administrator for Sturbridge. He formerly served as town administrator for West Boylston and the executive secretary for East Longmeadow, as well as serving as Chief of Staff for State Rep. Paul Caron.

The Selectmen said their decision was very close, as Weston would have been well-served by all three finalists, but Gaumond was selected due to his particular background and expertise, according to the announcement.
The three finalists were recommended by the Town Manager Screening Committee and were interviewed by the Selectmen at their meeting on June 25.
