• Adamsville mill no more, but pond issues on the rise (eastbayri.com) — Westport officials and state fisheries experts are pressing the Adamsville Mill Pond’s owner to restore water levels and fix the aging fishway so river herring can again reach the Westport River’s west branch. With the mill shut down and boards removed from the dam, the pond is unusually low, limiting skating and recreation while leaving the fish ladder high and dry. The state hopes to work with the owner this winter on repairs and an updated maintenance plan.
