5 Things: Buy Tickets for Garden Tour; and Butterfly Landing
On Saturday is a Parkway People fundraiser at the Irish Social Club on June 22 from 7-11 p.m.
- West Roxbury Main Streets 2nd Burger Wars started June 14 and ends on June 23 with 11 West Roxbury restaurants offering up their best burger to be determined by a survey and sales. For each burger sold, and prices vary at each restaurant, $1 will go to West Roxbury Main Street's continual revitatization efforts. The following are the participating restaurants: Porter Cafe, West on Centre, Masona Grill, Rox Diner, West Roxbury Pub and Restaurant, DeNo's, Red-Eyed Pig, The Real Deal, Marino's Market and Deli, West Napoli, and the Spring Street Cafe. - Buy tickets and read the preview for this Saturday's Evening Garden Club of West Roxbury tour - that is actually during the day. The tour is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the tour features six unique residential gardens, as well as three public sites. Tour tickets are $15 in advance, or $18 if purchased on the day of the tour and are available at three Centre Street businesses: Maria Lisa Bridal & Boutique, and Picture This. Tickets can also be purchased at the West Roxbury Public Library and other tour sites on the day of the tour.
- On Saturday is a Parkway People fundraiser at the Irish Social Club on June 22 from 7-11 p.m. The proceeds fund scholarships for Parkway-area students. About 25 people will be inducted into the Parkway Hall of Fame. Tickets are $10 at http://parkwaypeople.org/ and $20 at the door. Parkway People is a community group formed last year with a mission of “Building a stronger community through communication and support of small business.”

- The Butterfly Landing is open at the Franklin Park Zoo with 1,000 butterflies. This exhibit is free with paid admission.
