5 Things: Improvements to Millennium Park, West Roxbury High School Fields

Tonight's meeting will present proposed upgrades to the athletic facilities, programming, and lighting at the West Roxbury Education Complex playing fields.

  2. Also today at the West Roxbury Library is Sing Along with talented musician Lulu for kids 2- to 5-years-old from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Free, but space is limited. Register by calling 617-325-3147.
  3. Also today at the West Roxbury Library is an Origami Workshop with Kaori Litwinsky for children 6 to 12. Free. 4-5 p.m. Learn how to make beautiful animals with this simple paper-folding technique.
  4. The Corey Street Farmers' Market will hold its grand opening on Sat., June 23, and is still looking for vendors. The grand opening will feature Silverbrook Farm, live music, food, crafts and more. If interested in being a vendor please contact Leslie Belay at leslie.belay@verizon.net.
  5. Writing help: Are you a writer looking to finish your children's book project? The Associates of the Boston Public Library is now seeking applications for their 10th annual Children's Writer-in-Residence fellowship, which provides an author with a room to work at in the Central Library in Copley Square and a $20,000 stipend.
