5 Things: Library Book Sale; and Lobster Dinner Reservations

Tonight learn more about Boston's proposed new urban agriculture regulations at a public meeting at Suffolk University Law School.

 

  1. The Friends of the West Roxbury Library Book Sale starts today at the West Roxbury Library. 
  2. Today is the Boston City Hall Farmers Market from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  3. Tonight learn more about Boston’s proposed new urban agriculture regulations at a public meeting at Suffolk University Law School, 120 Tremont St., in the first-floor function room. Hear about key elements proposed in a draft version of Boston Zoning Code Article 89 related to commercial farms, farmers markets and farm stands, aquaculture, hydroponics and aquaponics, farm composting, farm soil safety and backyard bee- and hen-keeping. This is the first in a series of 10 neighborhood meetings sponsored by the Boston Redevelopment Authority that will be held on the subject and is geared toward Boston’s inner core, including Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Chinatown, Downtown Boston, North End, West End and Charlestown. However, people from all neighborhoods are welcome to attend any meeting. All attendees must bring some form of photo ID (driver’s license, credit card, etc.) to clear building security. 6-8 p.m.
  4. Friday night, June 7 will be a A Lobster Dinner sponsored by the St. George Orthodox Church of Boston Adult Fellowship - but you need to make reservations by Wednesday. Menu: Two boiled lobsters, baker potato, cole slaw, dessert and coffee. 5-7 p.m. Price: $22.95. Children under-12 (1 lobster) or fish dinner $15. Take out orders will be available. Reservations must be made by calling Pat Ayoub 781-326-6755 or Michel/Evelyn Easa 617-266-0065. If a machine answers be sure to leave your name and number. Reservations are a must. Deadline for reservations is Wed., June 5.  Friends, neighbors, parishioners, all are welcome! St. George Orthodox Church.
