5 Things: Storymobile at Library; Shakespeare On The Common

The ReadBoston Storymobile will be at the West Roxbury Library for stories, free books and kid fun on Thursday at 6 p.m.


  1. The ReadBoston Storymobile will be making multiple stops per week at four West Roxbury locations this summer to read to children, free books and more! On Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the Roche Family Community Center, and at 11:15 a.m. at Billings Field, and 12:30 p.m. at the Ohrenberger Community Center.   2. Commonwealth Shakespeare Company offers free Shakespeare On The Common throughout the month of July. Upcoming performances of “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” are scheduled for July 18 at 1 p.m., July 21 at 7 p.m. and July 23-26 at 8 p.m. For reserved chairs and to order picnic boxes, visit www.commshakes.org.
  3. Looking for a place to cool off? Check out the spray tot lot at Hynes Playground on the VFW Parkway.
  4. Also Draper Pool at 5279 Washington St., West Roxbury is open for Boston residents.
  5. Register students for the summer reading program at the West Roxbury Library today at 10 a.m.  For free pick up the reading packet and register for special events. For toddlers to grade 8.
