1. Tonight the Icon of the Mother of God of Hawaii will visitSt. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. A Paraklisis service of intercession will be served at 7 p.m. followed by the anointing of the faithful. This myrrh-streaming icon depicts the Mother of God holding the Christ child. The Holy Oil that flows from this icon possesses the fragrance of roses. It is considered a great blessing from the Mother of God and many healings, both spiritual and physical, have been attributed to it. The icon was a gift to an Orthodox believer in Hawaii in 2007. 
2. Tonight the Copley BPL is offering a poetry workshop with Boston Poet Laureate Same Cornish from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This workshop is free but space is limited, please call 617-859-2339 to register. 
3. Today City Councilor At Large Felix Arroyo will be hosting a Latino Heritage Month Celebration at Boston City Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
4. On Tuesday is a Joslin’s first symposium tailored to families and their children - pediatric and young adolescents – living with type 1 diabetes. Hear about the latest advances in science from members of Joslin’s renowned research team. 7 p.m. 1 Joslin Place, Boston. To RSVP or learn more, please contact Nancy Holt at 617-309-2405 or nancy.holt@joslin.harvard.edu.
