Shall we dance? If you ask Adrianne Haslet-Davis that question, you wouldn’t have to ask her twice.
Haslet-Davis, a former ballroom dancer who lost a third of her leg in the April 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, foxtrotted across the Boylston Street finish line on Tuesday.

Her desire to perform there was spurred by her determination to move past, literally and figuratively, the location that changed her life just two years ago.
“You realize what kind of life you lived, and that flashes before you, and then you realize what kind of life that you want to live after,” she posted on the homepage on her website. “I am not defined by what happened in my life. I am a survivor, defined by how I live my life.”

The 34-year-old got the finish line dance opportunity through Oberto Beef Jerky, a company that named her a “ Hero of Summer” and will use the dance footage in one of its commercials.
Traffic in the Back Bay was diverted on Tuesday to let Haslet-Davis and her dance partner perform.

Adrianne Haslet-Davis resides in Boston with her husband Major Adam Davis, who is a member of the United States Air Force.
