State Rep. Mike Rush (D-West Roxbury), along with State Rep. Ed Coppinger (D-Boston) gathered with Catholic Memorial High School students and faculty on Wednesday to honor the school’s Irish studies program, Rush announced on Facebook.

The gathering was meant to recognize Breandán Ó CaollaíIn, Irish Consulate of Boston, and Irish Minister Joe McHugh, both of home the school reportedly hosted after visiting McHugh in Ireland in June. CM’s Irish-language program is reportedly the only of its kind at the secondary-school level outside of Europe, Rush said.
