'Hallucinogenic Substance' Hospitalizes West Roxbury Students

Six high schoolers were taken to the hospital Friday.

WEST ROXBURY, MA — Six students were taken to the hospital Friday after eating what Boston Police say was a "hallucinogenic substance."

Boston Police shared this statement with Patch:

6 students were transported from 1205 VFW Parkway (West Roxbury High School) to the hospital for consuming a hallucinogenic substance at 10:37 a.m. today. No further information available at this time.

In a separate statement to Universal Hub, police said the students were taken to the hospital after eating "brownies that may have been tainted with marijuana."

Police said in that statement, "Boston Public Schools does not tolerate students in possession of, or under the influence of, controlled substances while at school. Students who are found to have been in violation of the school's Code of Conduct will be subject to disciplinary action."
