A large brush first broke out today across from the George Wright Golf Course in the Stony Brook Reservation today.
Several units were fighting the four-alarm fire.
According to the fire department, the weather was most likely to blame for the fire. The hot spring sun dries up the brush left over from the previous fall, creating conditions conducive to such fires.

The National Weather Service released an alert today warning that the possibility of brush fires is high in many areas across New England.
